The Ellicott City Summer Band Camp is recommended for any students with one to three years of playing experience. Our goal is to provide young musicians with an enriching musical experience while having fun. Although we are called the "Ellicott City" Summer Band Camp, student musicians from all surrounding areas are welcome to attend!
At our camp young musicians will:
Develop their individual and ensemble playing skills.
Learn exciting new music and meet new friends.
Play "side-by-side" with older musicians (our awesome "counselors") who work with our staff to serve as mentors.
Experience masterclass/clinics with local professional musicians
Perform on our grand finale concert at the James Rouse Theater at Wilde Lake High School
We also make time for FUN and games every day during our outdoor recess/chill/snack time. We have a popsicle party as well as a slip-n-slide/pizza party during the second week of camp.
More about ECBC:
First begun by long time director Frank Owens (Centennial Lane Elementary), our camp was known for many years as the Centennial Lane Summer Band Camp. The camp started in summer 2003 with 36 campers. Over time the camp has grown, and every summer we welcome over 150 young band musicians from the surrounding area. Rising 5th through 8th graders are our "campers" while high school students may apply as "counselors" who work with our staff to mentor younger musicians. Be sure to visit our video and testimonials page to see and hear more about our camp experience!
